It has it's fan base and you may very well like it, but it has also incurred instant dislike in some players I've known. Personally the more I've played it the lower my opinion of it has become.

For me the opposite. Never thought that highly of it, but surprises me time and time again.

So what you need to know:

number of players: do not play with 6 or more, takes forever. For me 3 is the sweet spot, but 4 and 5 work fine as well, for 2 players there's other games. (the trick with 3 is that the game runs faster and all characters are in game, with 2 charaters per player). With 4-5 players there'll be more chaos and laughter around the table with that kind of group.

feel of the game: this is a game of double think. What he thinks that I think and that he knows sort of thing. Don't be lured into thinking this is an euro where you build you city - if you ignore other players you'll be dead instantly.

Who should avoid this game:
- people who don't like conflict and are annoyed if somebody interferes in their plans
- people who don't bother to think - it's a double think game, if everybody doesn't engage in it, random killings will happen and people will be pissed off. Some find too much chaos in the game and claim they've been killed "unfairly" - there's two sides to that. One is that playing with people who don't bother to go into double think, will do that. The other is of course that you don't want to be predictable (unless people know that's what you want, in which case...)
- players with AP - they'll kill the game (that's also why one shouldn't play it with 6 players). It's a light game, it must flow quickly.

Who this game is for:
- people who enjoy playing WITH people and countering their strategies. conflict, tension, this game has it all.
- nongamers. Well kinda. This game has been a hit with nongamers as the rules are intuitive and the game is easy to pick up. However as written above - it might also backfire if people don't bother to engage properly in it.
