I should mention I'm primarily a Greyjoy player. Adjusting style to play a Martell deck is a bit weird for me.

Apologies for waffle and covering the some things twice.

No, thank you. Your perspective is well received.

Two points:

1. As to the Song of Summer pack -- Part of me feels duplicitous in purchasing it since the majority of my group has been playing out of a single core, doesn't know summer/winter themes even exist, and wouldn't have any counters. Additionally, I've been warned to ignore this cycle by other experienced players, but looking at the specifics at Cardgamesdb, I do see one or two Targ and Martell cards that would synergize well with my outlooks. Should that be my litmus, if I see something that looks like it works go for it, or are you saying that those cards might look nice now, but they'll detract from the game in the long run?

2. So Martell is very event based, and therefor situational (and it might be a bit much staying mindful of all those potential situations). I see. What turned me off to Greyjoy, aside from their limited strategic nature (they seemed built for military rushes, at least out of the core), was the annoying *lack* of intimidate out of the initial expansion. Unless Cardgamesdb is wrong, I was only able to find ONE character with the keyword (Victarion Greyjoy). So, I take it they win unopposed through stealth primarily (via only the Lord of the Sea box)? However, I do like the fact they can put a push on the time demands of the game, and will look them over again before pulling the trigger.

Anyway, thanks again!
