Particularly if you are playing more Kingsburg, you have to have to have to get the expansion To Forge a Realm. You can read about it in a number of articles, but it really increases options and variation and replayability.

We like five player games, though I will agree with Ron that if you have significant AP players, 5-player can run long. Our group moves right along and we don't experience this, but I have played it at Cons and a couple slow players do make the game go longer than design.

As far as the 'less options' function, I am inclined to disagree :). The tighter number of spaces per player just forces players to be more aware of the mechanics that help manage these. Aside from looking around to make sure others can't usurp your hoped for space, there is:
- The +2 to die roll markers become more valuable
- The Inn, Brewery, Market, Travelling Market, Alter, Statue, Chapel etc etc all provide ways to get better rolls or alter roll results.. increasing flexibility to deal with opponents' blocking plays.

Still, having said that, it is tighter with more players and blocking and being blocked become more of a strategic consideration (which also has the side effect of incresing the value of resource producing buildings. Overall, I like 4 and 5 player games.
