I understand what you're getting at, but I think thematically it works. Sure, you initially need a close range to place the lock on your target, but once you have it, the onboard computer is doing all the work for you. You could essentially keep that lock in place indefinitely (at least within the confines of this game).We had a game the other night where one of my TIE's was targeted by Luke and he ended up keeping the lock in place even though they were on other ends of the board as he had no need to change it. Every time I activated my TIE, which I had moved out of immediate combat range as he was trying to repair his critical damage on his ship, I kept saying that there was a problem with his onboard systems as his computer kept telling he was in a lock even though no enemy ships were in sight. I kept thinking that my pilot was slowly going mad wondering why his systems were bugging out.
